    GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY Department of Linguistics is pleased to announce a senior position in the sociolinguistics program. We invite applications from scholars of international renown with distinguished records of publication and teaching. Field of specialization is open but we have a special interest in one or more of the following: anthropological linguistics, applied sociolinguistics (for example to education, law, or medicine), cross-cultural communication, and gender and language. The six-member sociolinguistics program resides in a large linguistics department involved mostly in graduate education with opportunities for reaching out to undergraduates.

    Deadline for full consideration of applications is November 15, but the position will remain open until filled.
