Subject: Applied Linguistics
Assistant Professor with a Ph.D. in linguistics, tenure-track,
beginning Fall 1998. Candidates should have both (1) teaching/research
experience in applied linguistics including English as a second
language and (2) expertise in another qarea of linguistics such as
second language acquisition, literacy studies, first language
acquisition, history of English, syntax, etc. Three-course teaching
load per semester including general education or composition. We will
interview at MLA. Send application letter, C.V., and three letters of
reference by November 7 to Linguistics Search Committee, c/o Ginny
