    Tenure-track Position - Linguistics/TESOL

    Southern Illinois University at Carbondale

    Linguistics/TESOL: Southern Illinois University at Carbondale seeks applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor beginning August 16, 1998. Applicants with an established record of teaching and publications may be considered for appointment as Associate Professor. The individual selected must hold the Ph.D. in Linguistics or a closely related field by the time of appointment with a specialization in TESOL, second language reading and writing, and experience in teacher training and supervision preferred. If all degree requirements are not completed at the time of appointment, the appointment shall be a term appointment at the rank of instructor. Duties include teaching undergraduate and M.A. level courses, particularly TESOL theory and methods and practicums, coordination and supervision of undergraduate writing courses and teaching assistants, research, and service on student and departmental committees. Applicants should submit letter of application summarizing experience in areas of designated specializations, current CV, transcripts, samples of publications, and three letters of recommendation to Search Committee, Department of Linguistics, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Carbondale, IL 62901-4517.
