    Phonology Position

    The Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics, York University, invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Linguistics, commencing July 1, 1998. The position is subject to budgetary approval by the University.

    Qualifications: Ph.D., strong research record, publications and demonstrated teaching ability. Candidates' primary area of specialization will be in current phonological theory. The Linguistics programme at York offers a broad range of courses and encompasses a variety of interests and theoretical approaches. Consequently, preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to having the ability to teach phonology at the undergraduate and graduate levels, have the competence to teach in one or more of the following areas at the undergraduate and graduate levels: field methods, first language acquisition, second language acquisition, psycholinguistics, language disorders, discourse analysis.
