    Wonkwang University Language Center located in Iksan, Chonbuk (southweste= rn part of South Korea) is looking for a few qualified native speakers of English. They will be expected to teach English conversation 20 hours a week, which may include regular university classes. The salary and benef= its include =A3=DC1,500,000 a month (severance pay included), a university-ow= ned furnished apartment (double occupancy), medical insurance and overtime payment (=A3=DC20,000 an hour).

    Qualifications: Master's degree in any field or Bachelor's degree in English, English Education, TESOL, Linguistics ESL teaching certificate Teaching experience in English

    Washington College in Chestertown, MD is initiating a Japanese language program with the introduction of a two-semester Elementary Japanese course beginning in the fall of 1997. The Dept. of Foreign Languages, Literatures & Cultures would like to hire a part-time adjunct instructor of Japanese to teach that course and we are looking for an interested and qualified person who may live within commuting distance of our campus. If the initial course is successful, it is our hope to expand the program to include an Intermediate Japanese course in academic year 1998/99. Washington College is an independent liberal arts college with a student body of 1000 students. Our foreign language program offers majors in French, German & Hispanic Studies and in Interdisciplinary Culture Studies. Chestertown is located in Kent County on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, approximately 1 1/2 hours from Washington,D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia, and one hour from Wilmington, DE.     The Department of Japanese Studies of Salem-Teikyo University invites applications for an instructor of Japanese at the rank of Assistant Professor or Instructor, beginning August, 1997. Responsibilities include teaching 6 modules (24 credit hours) and doing research for 2 modules (2 months) per year. We are seeking a person who can teach undergraduate Japanese language courses for non-native Japanese including "Kokugo" as a cultural identity of the Japanese. Applicants must have native fluency in Japanese and a Master's degree in the relevant fields. Yaruki no aru kata, mattemasu! (This year 6 students passed Level 3 of the Japanese Proficiency Test provided by the Japan Foundation.)
