    The speech and natural language group at Canon Research Centre Europe (CRE) are looking for a researcher and a software engineer to join their NLP team.

    We work on NLP technology for a number of different applications, with a focus on information retrieval and interactive spoken language interfaces. We are also developing medium and large vocabulary continuous speech recognition software.

    We are looking for outstanding people who are self-motivated, have an ability to learn quickly and an interest in exploring new avenues. We have the following requirements.

    Research role:

    Someone with excellent programming skills and significant relevant experience in one or more areas of NLP. Experience of building real systems is highly desirable.

    Software engineering role:

    Excellent programming skills in a variety of languages and experience of constructing large robust software systems are required. Experience in an area of NLP would be an advantage, but is not essential.
