    POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE AT THE COGNITIVE SCIENCE PROGRAM, UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA

    A research team studying deaf elementary school children's language development plans to appoint a postdoctoral fellow for the period of August, 1998, to July, 1999. (Funding available will permit renewal of the postdoctoral appointment, and extensions may be made subject to satisfactory performance review.) Salary will be $25,000 per year, plus health benefits. Candidates must have a PhD or EdD and be experienced in, or wish to gain experience in, developmental psycholinguistics with emphasis on experimental as well as observational techniques. Candidates with background in experimental language research will be given priority. The successful candidate must be bilingual in English and ASL; some knowledge of Spanish is also desired. Primary responsibilities will be helping design and evaluate measures of language development; some teaching and testing of children and report-writing will also be done.
