I am a linguist working at Lonely Planet in Melbourne. I'm looking for native speakers to provide translations from English in the West African indigenous languages listed below. I need a small number of phrases (the traditional greetings, plus 20 or 30 basic phrases) for an upcoming edition of the Lonely Planet travel guide book to West Africa. Lonely Planet also plans to publish a West African phrasebook within the next 2 years, so more work may well be on offer at a later date.

Languages: Dioula/Jula/Malinke (of Cote d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso) Fulfulde/Pulaar (of Senegal) Malinke (of Mali) Mandinka (of Gambia) Akan dialects Twi/Fante (of Ghana)

If anyone can help directly with these languages (or suggest others who may be able to), please contact Quentin Frayne, email - <quentinflonelyplanet.com.au>

Due to the vast array of dialects or regional varieties of these languages, it will help if you specify which is your specialty.

    Thanks in advance.
