    In der Philosophischen Fakultaet/Fachgruppe Sprachwissenschaft ist die

    C 4-Professur fuer Germanistische Sprachwissenschaft

    zu besetzen.

    Von den Bewerberinnen und Bewerbern wird erwartet, dass sie das Fach in Forschung und Lehre (Staatsexamensstudiengang Deutsch und Magisterstudiengang Sprachwissenschaft mit germanistischem Schwerpunkt) in seiner ganzen Breite einschliesslich der Sprachgeschichte vertreten und in mindestens einem systematischen Gebiet der Sprachwissenschaft ausgewiesen sind. Sie sollen bereit sein, im Sonderforschungsbereich "Entwicklung und Variation im Lexikon" mitzuarbeiten. Habilitation oder habilitationsaequivalente Leistungen werden vorausgesetzt.

    Instructor of English, with specialty in general linguistics. Appointment to begin August 1999; preference given to those with PhD by that date. Non-tenure-track appointment, renewable. Teaching load 4 courses per semester.     POSITION ANNOUNCEMENTS DEPARTMENT OF SPANISH AND PORTUGUESE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA

    I. The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities invites applications for one or more tenure track Assistant Professors. These full-time nine-month positions will begin fall semester 1999. Salary competitive and commensurate with experience. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to pursue a rigorous program of research, engage in outstanding teaching, advise graduate and undergraduate students, and engage in service. Near-native fluency in English as well as in Spanish and/or Portuguese is required. A Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Spanish and/or Portuguese or a related field is required by the appointment start date. Field is open [and includes Hispanic linguistics].

    II.The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Minnesota seeks a Director of Language Programs. The rank will be at tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor, depending upon qualifications and experience, and consistent with existing collegiate and university policy. Salary competitive and commensurate with experience. This full-time nine-month position will begin fall semester 1999. In addition to expertise in program administration, TA training, and proficiency testing, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to pursue a rigorous program of research in Hispanic linguistics, engage in outstanding teaching, advise graduate and undergraduate students, and engage in service. A Ph.D. or foreign equivalent is required by the appointment start date. Near-native fluency in Spanish and English is required.
