    The Linguistics Department of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level with principal specialization in formal semantics, starting September 1, 1999. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

    We seek applicants whose research interests complement and interact well with those of the current faculty and who can contribute breadth and depth to the department's research and teaching potential. We also seek potential for excellence in teaching and advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

    Applications should include a curriculum vitae, copies of not more than three research papers, and evidence of teaching ability. Applicants should ask three referees to send letters of reference to the search committee. Completed applications and all letters of reference must be received by December 1, 1998.
