    Assistant Professor of TESOL

    The Department of Language and Foreign Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University, Washington DC, invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of TESOL to begin in Fall 1999. With over thirty years of TESOL experience, American University offers an MA in TESOL, a Certificate in TESOL, a combined Bachelor's/Master's program, and an annual Summer TESOL Institute.

    Responsibilities will include teaching courses in linguistics and TESOL, directing the Master's, Certificate, and combined Bachelor's/Master's programs; engaging in an active program of research and publication; and rendering service at the departmental, college, and university levels. Candidates must have a PhD in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, or other appropriate discipline, and a record of excellence in teaching and research.
