    Subject: Visiting Positions in Phonology and Semantics


    The Department of Linguistics at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst anticipates two sabbatical replacement positions available for 1998-99, contingent on funding.

    Phonology: one-semester replacement position as visiting assistant professor in Fall 1998. Specialization in phonological theory, with strength in phonetics a plus. Ph.D. must be completed by September 1998.

    Semantics: one-semester replacement position as visiting assistant professor in Spring 1999. Specialization in formal semantics. Ph.D. must be completed by September 1998.

    Review of applications will begin on March 2, 1998 and will continue until the position is filled.
