Dear Colleague:
The position described below has been modified to encourage applications
from junior level (Assistant Professor Level) applicants. Junior level
applicants should have postdoctoral training or experience as a faculty
member. Evidence of mentoring skills is desirable. Please share this
information with colleagues, former students, and current or former
trainees. Contact Irving Hochberg, Ph.D. (hochbergmailhub.gc.cuny.edu) by
December 1, 1998, for further information regarding the CUNY Graduate
Center, the Ph.D. Program in Speech and Hearing Sciences, and the position.
Neurophysiology of Language. The position requires the individual to
develop and to sustain a program of research using electrophysiological
and/or imaging techniques to study linguistic processing and/or language
production, provide research training to Ph.D. students, supervise Ph.D.
dissertations and teach introductory and advanced courses at the doctoral
level. The candidate should have a strong background in linguistics or
psycholinguistics and an interest in populations with language disorders.
Qualifications include a record of empirical and scholarly publications, a
Ph.D. or equivalent, and a record of success in teaching and mentoring
doctoral students. Appointment may be made at a junior or senior

Job offer:
We need an overseas English teaching at College of English Language
and Literature of Shanghai International Studies University, Shanghai,
China.
Obligations: Teaching English or American literature, creative writing
on postgraduage level, oral English on undergraduate level, and other
courses he/she wishes to offer. 12 to 14 teaching hours a week.
Eligibility for application: English native speakers with MA or above.
Salary and benefits: RMB1,200-1,400 a month, free acommodations, free
return air ticket for one year contract and free one-way for a
semester contract.
