    Biological Foundations of Language Linguistics Department University of Manitoba

    The Linguistics Department at the University of Manitoba invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning 1 July 1999 or soon thereafter, subject to budgetary approval. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The 1999-2000 salary range for this position is $41,277 - $48,500.

    Duties include teaching courses in the anatomy and physiology of speech, neurolinguistics, communication disorders, language acquisition, and one or more of the core areas of linguistic theory. The successful candidate will have an active research program in neurolinguistics, psycholinguistics or language acquisition, and will be expected to supervise MA and PhD students in this area of specialization.

    A completed doctoral degree in Linguistics or a closely related discipline is required.

    Assistant/Associate Professor Child Language Development and Disorders

    Announcing a full-time, twelve month tenure-track position in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, School of Allied Health Sciences, East Carolina University. This position is to be an integral part of a long standing master's degree program and newly established doctoral program. Teaching and research position. Qualifications include: 1) an earned doctorate degree in speech-language pathology; 2) evidence of or potential for excellence in research and scholarship in child language development and disorders. CCC-SLP or eligible for certification. Successful candidate's primary responsibilities will involve teaching graduate courses, providing clinical supervision, conducting basic or applied research, and supervising/directing graduate student research. Evidence of successful grantsmanship and doctoral student mentoring is desired. Screening of applications will begin February 1, 1999 and will continue until position is filled.
