    We, Seowon University (located in Chongju, S. Korea), are now recruiting English instructors for the 1999 academic period.

    Applicants are expected to have the following qualifications: 1) Excellent writing and speaking skills (native speakers of English) 2) BA in English-related Area; MA and PH.D. in TESOL or Creative Writing is VERY welcome.

    Job descriptions: 1) English conversation class: 14 hours a week 2) Extra 3-5 hours in the Foreign Language Education Center of Seowon University

    Basic Conditions: (Individual Contract for highly qualified applicants) 1) 1,600,000 Won per month; Overtime: 20,000 Won per hour 2) Housing: a furnished studio is provided nearby the university. 3) An 8 week paid vacation: 4 weeks in summer; 4 weeks in winter - No class during midterm/final exams--not included in vacation period 4) Others: Personal Computer, Office, Health Insurance 5) Family-like environment

    The Program in Linguistics at the University of Michigan invites applications for a visiting assistant professor position. The appointment would be for the academic year 1999-2000, or for one semester (Fall 1999 or Winter 2000), depending on the successful applicant's availability and area(s) of specialization. Applicants should be able to teach introduction to linguistics at the undergraduate and graduate levels, in addition to courses in one or more specializations. Specializations in language typology, structure of ASL, computational linguistics, or neurolinguistics are particularly welcome. Applicants should have demonstrated teaching ability and should have completed the PhD by the time of appointment.
